Meeting with the Journalists
BLAST organized meetings with the local journalists at its 19 unit offices with a view to involving the local journalists with the activities of BLAST, identifying the problems of the people at the grass root level, conveying the activities of BLAST to the people at grassroots level through newspapers and making them aware of their rights through print and electronic media. The national and local level journalists of both print and electronic media took part in the meetings. The success and prospects of different activities carried out by BLAST in the last year were presented at the meetings. The journalists placed the following recommendations on different issues:
· To place signboards of BLAST in every Thana and Union.
· To engage the female UP members with the activities of BLAST.
· To hold awareness meetings at grassroots levels.
· To work along with the journalists to find out information about the sensational incidents.
· To include the General Secretary of the Press Club as a member of BLAST in unit management committees.
